The Prehistoric Romeo and Juliet

As I was searching for pictures of people hugging for my last blog post, I found this. Its an old story from 2007 but new to me. This is no fake or Photoshop its 100% real.

Before Romeo and Juliet, it was them. The young couple died together embraced. Arms and legs wrapped around each other face to face. Archeologist, Elena Menotti and her team led the discovery of this couple in Mantua, Italy 25 miles from south of Verona, the city of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

"The two bodies, which cuddle closely while facing each other on their sides, were probably buried at the same time, possibly an indication of sudden and tragic death" Bondioli said.
I wish I knew more about this couple and how they died together. It would have probably made the best love story. Maybe better than Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights, Casablanca, and Pride and Prejudice? I'd say it could be possible just by looking at this picture without even knowing who they are or what actually happened. Its amazing after 5,000 years they are still holding each other.
