Who Needs a Snuggie When You Can Sleep with Snazzy Napper

Snazzy Napper
Honestly where do they get these ideas?!?! To look absolutely ridiculous wear this. This makes all the other infomercial products look normal. So instead of looking like a monk you can now wear a Muslim burqa.  Classy right?

Bad idea. I would provide a link to their website but I do not encourage anyone to buy this.

Say Cheese :)

Kraft, Monster Media, CP + B, and MediaVest partnered together to make a smile detecting system. Pedestrians all over the nation activated the noodle to ) by their own smile. The detector also kept track of each smile it encountered.

They Don't Sneak Diss. 1800 vs. Patron

Wowzers. I just saw the 1800 ad campaign to Change the Game (released August 2009) and it came hard. Created by Agent16, the $15 million campaign was launched September of 2009 with TV spots on cable television (such as ESPN and Comedy Central) and a sponsorship of the Los Angeles LakersNot only do they say they are the best premium tequila but Soprano actor Michael Imperioli kicks a patron bottle off the table.

“In this economy, we don't think consumers need to pay an arm and a leg for great tasting tequila. This new ad campaign is about reminding people that they can buy the real deal – 1800 Silver Tequila – and have just as much fun.” says a Proximo spokesperson. "Unlike PatrĂ³n, which was started by a co-founder of a hair care company in 1989, 1800 Silver Tequila has nine generations of distilling expertise behind it, and is a family-owned brand of superb quality 100% Agave spirit,”
Yes I know I'm late about blogging this but I just had to. Nothing better than aggressive campaigning. More brands should this just as Team Jacob and Team Edward, iPhone vs. Blackberry, Mac vs. Apple rivalries. It makes for better entertainment and brand loyalty.

New Band, New Name, New Marketing. FreeCreditScore.com

After saying goodbye to the Free Credit Report name we also said goodbye to their band. After fans voted August 9th, one band from Detroit, Michigan took the title, The Victorious Secrets. Company spokesman, Chris Moloney says "America will embrace them just as the voters have." Their big debut/campaigning  will premiere September 21th on the MTV Music Video Awards 2010. The Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia will be responsible for the $10-15 mill campaign that will have various tv spots, radio, and even made into ringtons. All jingles will be written by the Martin Agency's Dave Muhlenfeld, and Experian will own the publishing and recording copyrights, just as it was with FreeCreditReport.com

Check their 1st National TV spot. What do you think?

The Prehistoric Romeo and Juliet

As I was searching for pictures of people hugging for my last blog post, I found this. Its an old story from 2007 but new to me. This is no fake or Photoshop its 100% real.

Before Romeo and Juliet, it was them. The young couple died together embraced. Arms and legs wrapped around each other face to face. Archeologist, Elena Menotti and her team led the discovery of this couple in Mantua, Italy 25 miles from south of Verona, the city of Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet.

"The two bodies, which cuddle closely while facing each other on their sides, were probably buried at the same time, possibly an indication of sudden and tragic death" Bondioli said.
I wish I knew more about this couple and how they died together. It would have probably made the best love story. Maybe better than Romeo and Juliet, Wuthering Heights, Casablanca, and Pride and Prejudice? I'd say it could be possible just by looking at this picture without even knowing who they are or what actually happened. Its amazing after 5,000 years they are still holding each other.

Sometimes, a Hug is All What We Need

One Campaign I will love forever is the Free Hugs Campaign started by Juan Mann. You must listen to his story! When feeling all alone he knew that just a hug would make everything a ton better. In a world of disconnect this did the most good for the cost of nothing!

When I visited Chicago with the Michigan State Advertising Association I saw a man with the "Free Hugs" sign. It wasn't Juan but I hugged him anyways. Some walked by but many went for hugs. It was great.

Check out the video

Also the song is great "All the Same" by Sick Puppies. The song was donated by them to the Free Hugs Campaign.

Food Whispering Your Name?

We all feel that way. I know my snacks and goodies call my name from other rooms maybe even from other states. Hell I'll eat even when I'm not hungry. I don't have self control. If I want it I'll do it without any thoughts. I realized that its probably not the smartest thing and that we should all evaluate out eating habits and lifestyle. So I decided this year to actually take this "lifestyle change" seriously. But like any drug addict, I relapse when coworkers ask to order food or during weekend outings. We all get weak and fall for it too many times. Somethings that helps me is reading statistics on obesity that relate to me. Maybe this can help you

  1. Blacks had 51% higher prevalence of obesity, and Hispanics had 21% higher obesity prevalence compared with whites.
  2. In 2009, no state met the Healthy People 2010 obesity target of 15%, and the self-reported overall prevalence of obesity among U.S. adults had increased 1.1 percentage points from 2007
  3. Percent of adults age 20 years and over who are obese: 34% (2007-2008)
  4. Risk Factors for Overweight and Obesity are type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, high LDL ("bad") cholesterol, stroke, hypertension, nonalcoholic fatty liver disease, gallbladder disease, osteoarthritis (degeneration of cartilage and bone of joints), sleep apnea and other breathing problems, some forms of cancer (breast, colorectal, endometrial, and kidney, complications of pregnancy, and menstrual irregularities
  5.  Over two-thirds of U.S. adults are overweight or obese
  6. Over one-third of U.S. adults are obese
  7. Only 31% of U.S. adults report that they engage in regular leisure-time physical activity (defined as either three sessions per week of vigorous physical activity lasting 20 minutes or more, or five sessions per week of light-to-moderate physical activity lasting 30 minutes or more). About 40% of adults report no leisure-time physical activity.
  8. On average, people who are considered obese pay $1,429 (42%) more in health care costs than normal-weight individuals.
Information provided by Weight-Control Information Network and Center for Disease Control and Prevention

Now if that doesn't help try fooling yourself thin. Here are some tricks and tips to stop you from snacking on junk.

  1. drink tea before a meal
  2. do not eat out of the box! pour it into a small bowl (kid size is best) and eat from that
  3. craving chocolate? don't buy candy bars. Buy chocolate chips, preferably dark chocolate chips
  4. if you can't stop eating chocolate stick it in a freezer. You'll have to wait for it to thaw. Hopefully by then you will convince yourself that you don't need it
  5. chew gum (classic trick)
  6. ask someone to hide the food you shouldn't be eating
  7. Check out the Subway Greasy Fast Food Commercial or Subway 1812 Overture or Subway "What Does the Combo Come With?"
  8. Read Skinny Bitch by Rory Freedman and Kim Barnouin
This should help. If #7 cant help you, I don't know what will!

Best Summer Love (or Fling)

Nothing Like Savings at Noon

Everyday you can save up to 70% (maybe even more :)) off on designer brands. Websites like Ideeli.com and Gilt.com lets me get the best brands for an affordable price. Designers such as Michael Khors, Marc Jacobs, Rachel Roy, Dolce and Gabbana, Gucci and many many more.  Screw going to the mall and paying full price I'd rather shop at my desk.

But make sure you are on that website exactly at 12:00 pm! everything goes pretty quickly and once its sold out its really sold out.

See full size imageI know this sounds perfect, but like all great things, it is a little to good to be true. You can't return most items. Maybe you don't like the style anymore, its too big, its too small, or you found something better. Doesn't matter, no take backs. There a very few items that you can return and the website will
See full size imagedetermine if they can take it back. I bought two items that I wish I could return. I did get this blue hobo bag and realized the strap to go over my shoulder was uncomfortable and wide. I also purchased a pair of Poetic Licences heels that are too big! I love the shoes but obviously can't do anything about it :( Another con is the shipping. I haven't tried the shipping with Gilt but Ideeli can take up to a month to ship! There is
express shipping available but nobody wants to pay more than they have to.

They also have deals on monthly subscriptions, home, and children tabs. Gilt has a gift tab that gives great deals on gift items. Jetsetter which is also with Gilt is another website that offers great deals on hotels. Think of the most luxurious resorts and spas in the most beautiful spots around the world. Yup they have it allllll

Does anyone know of any other websites like this? What did you buy? How do you rate it?
